ASSI - I really like Ledo rectangular shaped pizza the crust is unlike any thin crust or pan pizza. Ledo's specialty Pizzas come in Buffalo that's made with Ledo sauce spiced up with Ledo buffalo sauce topped with melted provolone cheese and roasted chicken. You can substitute the buffalo sauce with regular sauce, they also have Zest BBQ Chicken, Veggie, Meatlovers, Hawaiian, and Ledo Deluxe. A small cheese pizza is $4.99, small buffalo and Hawaiian for $6.49, and Buffalo with blue cheese crumbles and Veggie pizza for $7.24 that have 9 to twelve slices. The square slices are the right size for a mouth full, especially if the toppings are spread evenly through-out the pizza. Ledo use strips of chicken instead of cubes or crumbles leaving some squares without a topping. Ledo's Pizza located at 7435 Georgia Avenue, NW in Washington DC is clean, has plenty of parking, and the servers are professional and personable. The crust is not too thin or too thick it is just right, you can eat several slices without feeling stuffed. There are other great items on the menu you can have an Appetizer, Sides, Calzones and Stromboli, Ledo Entrees, Salads, Angus Burger Subs, Ledo Classic Subs and/or Ledo Oven Baked Subs. AHSI....A fine Jamaican Cuisine Restaurant called Sisters is located at Main St and Kensington intersection in Hartford, CT is less than five minutes from downtown. The atmosphere is always pleasant, pumping through the speakers are sounds of dance hall reggae music, and from what I witnessed they have many repeat customers. They are also one of the few places that serve turkey bacon, which is important to me because I gave-up eating red meat or pork. The menu has a wide variety of Jamaican cuisine ranging from curry goat and curry chicken to whiting fish and salmon. AHSI gives Sisters Cuisine 4 eyeballs

ASSI - Sisters is a convenient neighborhood Restaurant that is a good place for breakfast. I tried their pancakes, turkey bacon, scramble eggs hard with cheese, and homefries were satisfying to the palate. As implied in the name Sisters is an all women operation, and the food really is reminiscent of a home cook meal. I am interested in trying the Salmon Cakes that were sold out our last visit. I also want to have an order of grits and an omelet. The sunshine through the front windows; the mirrors and Light Blue flowered wallpaper, and Off-White pant on the walls, the low eating counters, the upbeat rhythms of the Jamaican music is uplifting, and familiar faces gave me a good feeling the second time we had breakfast at Sisters. As I see it Sisters' restaurant receives 3.5 blinks.

The Best Cheese Pizza in Hartford

AHSI......If you are partying in downtown Hartford stop by Papas Pizza located at 54 Union Place in Hartford, CT. It is one of the best late night spots in Hartford to enjoy a slice of pizza and a drink. Papas also offer breakfast and/or lunch at anytime through-out the day. It is generally packed on a weekend night due to late night party goers looking for food to soak-up the liquor consumed at one of the surrounding night clubs. The Hartford Civic Center is also in walking distances. For breakfast, I recommend the scrambled eggs and cheese with an order of homefries. For lunch and or late night, their Pizza is the best. I usually get a couple of slices of cheese pizza, it taste sweet, and the cheese is thick. AHSI gives Pappas Pizza 4 eyeballs.

ASSI - Pappas Pizza is really cheesy and the crust is not too thin or thick, and I agree it is ideal for a late night pick me-up. However, the best time to go is the middle of the day when there are no lines, on the weekend it's crowded, and known for hosting a fight or two on a Saturday night. It seems that some of the women in Hartford like to throw down regardless of the venue, they will fight in clubs, in restaurants, and on the streets, so beware when and if you hang-out downtown Hartford. A fight is subject to occur at any moment so always be aware of your surroundings to avoid getting caught-up in the mayhem. I understand that folks try to avoid the bathrooms at Pappas due to fights, if you are caught in the bathroom area, and a fight breaks-out you will be stuck right in the middle of it without any place to run for cover. Order your pizza to go, the slices are cheaper than purchasing a small pizza, and the large pizza is sizable for a large group or extremely hungry person. As I see it Papas Pizza receives 4 blinks.

Bartles and James Wild and Exotic

ASSI - If you are a light weight drinker but enjoy an alcoholic beverage every now-and-again. Try Bartles & Jaymes (B&J) brand of Wine Coolers that contains 4% alcohol and has enough taste to tip make you feel like you are part-taking in an adult alcoholic beverage. B & J Wine Coolers are produced by E & J Gallo Winery were introduced to the public in 1981, and come in a variety of flavors and here are just a few: Pomegranate Raspberry, Fuzzy Navel, Pina Colada, Exotic Berry, Strawberry Daiquiri, Margarita, Melon Splash, Sangria, and I like them all.

The coolers are so refreshing that an occasional guzzle may occur if you neglect to monitor your intake, and like any alcoholic beverage will go straight to your head. If you are a closet drinker who pretends that you are unable to handle alcohol stay away from B & J coolers they will make you tipsy. If you want to sip on cooler and perpetrate try Jack Daniels they taste more like fruit punch, Smirnoff Ice adds to your waist-line, and Bacardi silvers lacks flavor to me. I enjoy a nice smooth beverage that makes me feel good, and Bartles and Jaumes does exactly that for me. As I see it B & J receives 4 blinks.

Problematic Bagless Dirt Cup

ASSI - The Hoover Wind Tunnel + Cyclone vacuum cleaner is bagless, has a Hepa filter that is supposed to remove up to 99.97% of airborne particles, and the cyclone feature represents continuous suction. I like the look, color, design and cord reel, but it is a heavy vacuum. I thought a bagless feature was a good design until I attempted to empty the contents. I shook, shook, and shook the dirt cup. The contents came out a little at-a-time and I stuck my finger in a side hole eight times to retrieve the remaining dirt. My slacks were dusty, my frustration level was high, and I was displeased that the contents did not empty with ease. I am hopeful that the Hepa and secondary filter are less problems to clean. The Hoover Wind Tunnel + Cyclone vacuum cleaner was effortless to assemble all you need is a phillips screw driver. The best time to purchase a vacuum cleaner is April and May. I decided on the Hoover vacuum cleaner January, and it went on sale in April for twenty dollars off the retail price. As I see it, I purchased the vacuum with all the features that I wanted, and at the price I wanted to pay, but overall I give the Hoover Wind Tunnel + Cyclone 3.0 blinks.

Juno on DVD

ASSI - "Juno" is a cute coming of age comedy-drama movie that won an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. There was a time when an unwed teenager's pregnancy was hidden from the friends and family, and the daughter resurfaced after giving birth and putting the child up for adaption. Times have certainly changed, and Ellen Page brings wit to a situation that is no longer tabu. "Juno" is written by Diablo Page who has written herself a new career.

Allison Janney and J.K. Simmons plays Juno very understanding and supporting parents whose sense of humor makes the movie sweet and endearing. Allison plays Juno step mother who sacrifice her desire to have a dog because Juno is allergic to dog saliva, and mother to Liberty Bell, Juno's little sister. J. K. Simmons is a caring father who loves his child inspite of the decisions she makes, and wants nothing more than to be Juno's first love. He is so adorable in this film that I smiled each time he was in a scene, he exude genuine love for his daughter while understanding who she is as a person.

Michael Cera seemed to play the same character as the one he played in Super Bad sweet, innocent, smart, and without controversy. As I see it Juno is a great chick flick that's a good weekend film. I give Juno 3.5 blinks.

One hundred years later, the life of the Negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. One hundred years later, the Negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. One hundred years later, the Negro is still languished in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in his own land. And so we've come here today to dramatize a shameful condition.In a sense we've come to our nation's capital to cash a check. Martin Luther King Jr is one of the most influential leaders in the world. Day 26 Knocks Danity Kane Out Of The #1 Spot

AHSI......P. Diddy keeps showing us how to put a group together, and how to make a number album. If you are a fan of reality TV, and are unfamiliar with Day 26. I recommend watching an episode of Making The Band 4 on MTV check your local listings for show times. It also displays the female group Danity Kane along side the new group Day 26. Diddy talkes to both groups during the show about how they are Bad Boy's future, Diddy claims he has not made a profit with Bad Boys' Recording in years, and that he has big plans for both Band and Donnie Bad Boys' solo artist as the great White hope. Diddy is banking on both groups and Donnie to resurge Bad Boys' profit margin. Episode to Episode you encounter different choreographers, producers, and the a vocal coach that all try to help tutor the new bands.

I was pleasantly surprised with Day 26's debut album. Willie, Quinton, Michael, Brian, and Robert have some beautiful ballads and their up-tempo songs give you a complete record that the entire family can enjoy. My seventeen year old niece loves this group. She plays their CD every day and already knows every song since the album's release on Tuesday. I give Day 26 4 eyeballs.

Wesley Snipes in "Chaos"

ASSI - Catch "Chaos" on DVD, the film debuted in 2006, starring Wesley Snipes, Ryan Phillippe, and Jason Statham in a master mind of the perfect bank robbery. It seems that Statham is becoming type cast, and this role is the same yet different for him. It was good to see Ryan Phillippe and Wesley Snipes in a movie again, it has been a minute for the both of them. To know that there is a meaning/definition unfamiliar to Webster that gives meaning to "Chaos" and it's relevance to the movie. As I see it the movie had just enough action for me, but the story line was a good store of bad guy good guy, but who is the bad guy? I give Chaos 3 blinks.

AHSI.....Wesley Snipes, is the brilliant bank robber that plots revenge towards Detectives Quentin Conners (Jason Statham) due to a robbery gone bad. Shane Dekker (Ryan Phillippe) is the young detective working the case with Statham. From beginning to end this suspense thriller is full of action, firearms and murders that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I give Chaos 4 eyeballs.

Cherry Blossoms in Full Bloom

ASSI - The Cherry Blossoms Festival in Washington, DC began on March 29, 2008 and ends on April 13, 2008. The City of Tokyo gifted 3000 cherry blossoms trees to the District of Columbia in 1912, and in honor of Lady Bird Johnson an additional 3800 trees were given to Washington in 1965. The Tidal Basin is a splender of beauty when the trees are in full bloom. I had the pleasure of walking around the Tidal Basin today, and it was absolutely beautiful. There were hundreds of people who decided to come-out on Sunday and part-take in the festivities. Parking at Haynes Point was available, but walking space was limited. Although
some pet-owners have very attractive dogs, there was bearly enough room for the people and strollers, and when you factor in all of the four legged friends, it was a bit much. What a great day for a photo opt and most people seem to want the same pictorial shot, and what a great day for a photographer and artist to capture images of the cherry and magnolia trees. There were limited food options available. There were three food vendors, one sold hamburgers, pull pork sandwiches, and french fries. The other served Teriyaki chicken with rice or noodles there were also two other chicken choices served with rice or noodles, a variety of egg rolls, and sushi could be purchased along with water and green tea. Many people were eating ice cream on 41 degree day, but it was a non issue for most folks. Too my surprise a lot of ice cream was sold on Sunday. I was really blown-away with the number of people who were under dressed. I had on a sweat suit with cuddle duds underneath, a scarf, coat, and I borrowed gloves from my friend in an attempt to stay warm. As I see it the Cherry Blossoms are worth the time and effort for the experience; however, if can approach the tidal basin from any streets East of 14th Street, N.W., and park at Haynes Point your time will be better spent instead of approaching from any streets west of 14th Street.

Have a Blast with The Wii

ASSI - I had a blast today while testing the Wii. I managed to play around of tennis, bowling, and boxing. I was literally tired from boxing, I struggled a little with tennis until I was able to handle my hand movement, and was good with bowling. I really liked creating my character who I named Coco Brown. The Wii is capable of producing characters who resemble you or you can create a far out bizarre looking alter ego. I had so much fun playing with the Wii that I must have one, but due to the demand my desire to have one soon will have to wait. I actually broke a sweat while boxing, and had to take a water break from all the hard work. The down side to the Wii is all of the accessories that must be purchased in order to have optimum enjoyment. The console comes with one Wii remote that operates as a handheld pointing device, Nunchuck controller, five standard sport games, and system accessories. However, you can purchase an assortment of accessories from Dance Dance Revolution to Wii fitness. The Wii is so popular that over 17 plus billion have been sold since December 2007. The product was introduced to the world in 2001, and since then has become the number one selling electronic game available. As I see it if you are one of the billions who have a Wii you know exactly what I am talking about, if you are like me you are hoping to purchase one soon, and if you have yet to experience the Wii what are you waiting on? I give the Wii 4 blinks based on my brief moment of use.

Pringles more than a Chip

ASSI - Pringles is my chip of choice. I like the traditional flavor, but am I also pleased with the various flavors that are offered, and I am extremely pleased that I can purchase all flavors for $1.00 a can. Pringles was introduced to the states in 1968, the name was picked out of Cincinnati , Ohio telephone book, and went global in 1970. The name was changed from "Pringles Newfangled Potato Chips" to "Pringles" when they went national. I know there is minimal air space in the can unlike a bag of chips that are mostly air and greasy chips. I like the texture of the chips when I place them in my mouth, I also like the shape, and crunch of the chip. Pringles even offers a low fat can of chips. I the packaging and logo is eye catching. The art work on the cans are attractive, the colors are vibrant, and the image is inviting enough to make you want to pick-up a can and pop a few in your mouth. I like to make the duck beak using the chips, I place one up and the other down, and move my mouth like a duck. Kids and adults are amused each time a perform my little trick. When I get to the last Ten or so pringles, I crunch them up and slide the remaining chips into my mouth. As I see it Alexandria Liepa who invented the chip and Gene Wolfe, a Science Fiction and Fantasy author who developed the machine that cooked the chips are snack geniuses, and I am one consumer who is appreciative of the product.

Dine In Only Wings

ASSI - We drove past our exit while driving west on Interstate 84. We were beyond hunger by the time we learned an alternative route home. We stumbled upon a family eatery and sports bar off of the highway, take-out was unavailable for wings that were $6.00 for twelve, and a variety of flavors from Garlic to Honey Mustard. Although I am no finger licker, I wanted to lick my fingers after eating the wings, and the wings were so good that I placed another order prior to leaving. Just so that I could take some home with me.

The Grill also offered $8.00 three course entrees that was too much food to consume in one serving. You have a choice of soup or salad, we ordered salad, Sunset Chicken Parmesan with fettuccine pasta, and apple pie for dessert. For a sports bar the restaurant was a nice surprise, and as I see it, if you are in Matamoras, PA be sure to stop into The Grill located at 1012 Pennsylvania Avenue. Sarah provided great service and we both ate a hot meal for under $25.00. I give The Grill 4.5 blinks.

Meet The Browns

ASSI - Tyler Perry who is an phenomenal writer, producer, and director, who has is riding the film wave. Meet the Browns is an adaptation of his stage play "Meet the Browns" a formula that has worked for Perry. He has turned all his plays into blockbuster movies for the masses, if you enjoy his plays, you probably will enjoy the movies too. I laughed so much during the movie that I was gasping for air. My natural instinct was to hoot and holler out loud, but I would have embarrassed myself had I fully enjoyed myself in the theater. David Mann who plays Leroy Brown is an outstanding actor and I am pleased that more people will have an opportunity to see his work. His wife Tamela Mann plays his daughter Cora Brown, and the Mann's seem to have a friendship and working relationship with Perry. I appreciate the realism of his films that are relevant to America's stories. Meet the Brown's is comedy that delivers the laughs and will have you shedding joyful and sad tears. Jennifer Lewis who is a wonderful actress delivered her lines and played her character's as Vera Pop Brown's oldest daughter. Angela Bassett is the illegitimate daughter of Pop Brown, a pimp who loved his hoes, and as a result of sleeping with girls produced Angela who inherits a house from her late father and gains a colorful family and a new surrounding for her three children. As I see it "Meet the Browns" is a delightful comedy and I give it 4 blinks.

Is The Elephant In The Room?

AHSI.....Fat Joe is still hanging in their with The Elephant In the
Room. Although he came in third place next to Rick Ross and Snoop Dogg he has the better album of the three to me. I am impressed with Joey Crack because he consistently gets better with each album. Big Pun definitely helped Joe through the years grow as an artist and after Big Pun passed away it seems as if Fat Joe got a lot better. The song he has with the best rapper ever KRS-1 shows the 1988 rhyme flow that was the best in its class. He has a wide range of songs on his album such as 300, a gritty NY song letting you know he is ready for war, The song that is getting a lot of play on the radio is his duet with J-Holiday (I Won't Tell). I give The Elephant In The Room 4 eyeballs.

ASSI - Ten to Twelve great tracks is all an artist really need on an album, and "The Elephant in The Room" delivers twelve radio friendly tracks. Big Joe and his signature Crack, Coca Crack is referenced through out the album. Joe leaned back and snatched the Great One KRS - One for "My Conscience", he is talking to his conscience or is it his mentor regardless Kris is pounds it out. Lil' Wayne is popping up on everybodies' album, but Joe really could have used the money he paid Lil' Wayne for future beats. The drum beats on Cocoababy make the track. It is apparent that Joe is no longer literally slanging Crack Cocaine on the streets or is he? His lyrics are laced with crack and folks on the street are buying it up, and according to Joe he is going to, "Get It for Life". If he continues to work on his craft and draw inspiration from Big Pun. The rats in the game will be eliminated, and he tells us all how to get rid of the rats in the ghetto. Check out K.A. R. I believe he is talking to Curtis the biggest rat. "300 Brolic" has a dark phantom feel to it that makes it kind a mysterious. This is the first time that I have listened to an entire Fat Joe album, I generally like the commercial stuff, but not enough to purchase. However, I heard a radio announcer ask who will have the number one album out of Snoop, Fat Joe, and Rick Ross. I decided to purchase all three just to take a listen. Honestly, I prefer Snoop, Fat Joe and then Rick Ross. As I see it Fat Joe was the smartest he only has twelve tracks that can garner six commercial hits unlike Snoop who has 21 tracks and Ross with 15. I give "The Elephant in The Room 3.5 blinks.

Ms. Jackson is Discipline

ASSI – It takes real discipline to overcome two mediocre albums and a new team of producers to resurrect a Janet’s musical career. I am a fan of Janet, however, I was displeased with her last two efforts and really felt that she should have shelved producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis years ago, but loyalty is on of Ms. Jackson’s disciplines. Ten slamming hot tracks are all Janet needed on this album like: Feedback, Rock With You, Can’t Be U, The 1 featuring Missy Elliott, So much better, What’s Ur Name, Discipline, and Curtains are my choices and a few others for good measure. I will split this album with Janet, she can keep eleven to thirteen tracks and I will take the above mentioned tracks, and with the intros is enough to produce a quality album. The other tracks could have been saved for the next album, but I guess the beats are not worth saving since music is constantly changing. Discipline sounds much better on the computer, Janet’s vocals are stronger, and can be clearly heard; however, when I listen in the car her vocals are under the music track, which makes it difficult to appreciate. As I see Janet's Discipline receives 3.5 blinks.

AHSI.... Besides looking at Janet Jackson's album cover, I was disappointed listening to Discipline. Janet is still whispering in all of her songs and to me the songs are immature for a women in her 40's. I know everyone wants to stay young forever but its time for Ms Jackson to grow up and give us some adult material to listen to. You do not hear any soul in her voice and her beats are to poppish for lack of better words. I give her album 1 eyeball.
