ASSI – Mixtapes are good if you prefer a mixture of artist instead of the same artist. I like the under ground mixtapes by Green Lantern. His artist selection and his perfect blend of tracks compliment each other. There are a few other mixtape DJs that I like such as Clue, but there is this one tape that I recently heard that was on point. It belonged to someone else, and I swore that I would remember because it was that good; however, I will have to provide that information later. DJ White Owl is ideal for getting you through the night. As I see it if you are unfamiliar with mixtapes, get familiar. If you are without a family member or friend who are mixtape consumers. Ask a street vendor who sells CDs to suggest an appropriate mixtape for you. A mix tape is always good for a party or when you are cleaning the house.

Mixtape Music Is Not Strictly For The Underground Anymore
AHSI.....The music industry is feeling the lack of record sales through out the entire industry. Mixtape music has become very popular with the mainstream music scene, and not just underground. It started back in the day, when DJ's figured out that they can make money buy selling mixtapes to different audiences. Ron G, Kid Capri and DoWop were some of the New York DJ's that were very popular mixing, scratching and rhyming. They featured the newest and most popular rap artist that was hot at that time. The mixtapes also helped many artist get known throughout the underground hip hop mixtape scene. The most famous rapper who mixtapes help-to-build his career, is known other than Mr. Curtis Jackson AKA 50 cents.
The second group of notable DJ's that came on the scene were DJ Clue, Kay Slay the Drama King, and Funkmaster Flex. These mixtape DJ's were also disc jockeys for the hottest radio stations in New York City. This made all of the other mixtape DJ's have to step their game up to the next level. DJ Clue became famous for being signed to Rocafella Records, and having a lot of guest appearances from the big names in Hip Hop.
