Check Mate....The Patriots Win 24-20
AHSI.........The hype that surrounded the biggest game of the year, so far, in the NFL lived up to its expectation. As I watched the game it appeared that Tom Brady and Peyton Manning were playing chess. It was a great display of Defense vs Quarterback and Mr. Brady can claim the title of Best QB in the NFL and the Patriots can claim that they are the best team. If or should I say when the New England Patriots go undefeated this year, they will be considered the best team ever or in the argument for it with the 72 Miami Dolphins that also went undefeated. Randy Moss played wonderful as always and Joseph Addai played great for Indy. Both Defenses played well, Indy being able to knock Tom around and getting 2 sacks and 2 interceptions while New England was able to slap Peyton around getting 1 interception, 3 sacks and 2 fumbles.
ASSI - The biggest game of the NFL season proved that power house quarterbacks Peyton Manning, Indianapolis, Colts and Tom Brady, New England; Patriots can be held to less than thirty points a game. The defense made the difference in this game with sacks, fumbles and interceptions; however, Brady who personifies a calm, cool, and collective persona maintained his resolve and the patriots defeated the colts. The Colts offensive line did a poor job of protecting Manning preventing their QB allowing him time to connect with his receivers. Manning is a more spirited person who has an upbeat and likeable demeanor. Most football fans were rooting for the Colts because of Peyton's approachableness , but he receives too much credit for calling his own plays. I know they wanted his play calling to win over Brady's play following. Brady is the strong subdued type who is more modest and extremely capable of executing the coach's plays. I enjoy watching both QBs and looking forward to the Hell-Mary-Passes.

Black Squirrels Indigenous to Washington, DC
Black squirrels are extremely appealing to the eye with their shiny dark coats. They are a melanistic morpheme that scientist refer to as “Color Morph” The only distinguishable difference is their color; however, some believe Black Squirrels are more aggressive than the Gray or White Squirrels, but studies have shown there are no behavioral differences.Prior to residing in DC, Blacks squirrels had gone unnoticed; we have traveled all over the world, but to no avail. Lived in Connecticut, Florida, and we simply do not recall seeing them in Mitchellville, Laurel, or even Hyattsville Maryland other places we have lived. We were unaware that 18 Black Canadian Squirrels were released by the National Zoo during Theodore Roosevelt’s presidency.According to the Smithsonian’ archives, the National Zoo received Black squirrels in 1902 and in 1906 from “The Department of Crown Lands” in Ontario, London. There is much speculation as to why the District received the squirrels. Some believe it was to increase the population of local Gray squirrels, which were decreased due to hunting. To our surprise we learned there are a number of towns from Council Bluffs, Iowa to Stevenage, UK that boosts about
having Black squirrels. The town of Marysville, KS named the Black Squirrel its official mascot, holds an annual Black Squirrel celebration, and in 1987, the “Black Squirrel Song” became the Marysville’s official anthem: “Lives in the city park, runs all over town, the coal black squirrel will be our pride and joy, Many more years to come.”Although Black Squirrels are not indigenous to Washington, D.C., we are on the look out for Black Squirrels as we travel the world. We are hopeful that you will share your Black Squirrel sightings with us. Please share when and where you saw a Black Squirrel for the first time.

American Gangster the Movie
AHSI....The new movie starring Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe is based on the life of Frank Lucas. Frank who was the former driver/hitman for Bumpy Johnson is originally from North Carolina. He moved to Harlem New York and that is where the movie introduces you this notorious gangster's life. I would suggest to everyone to see the series American Gangster on BET. They profiled Mr. Lucas on Wednesday and the movie chronicles the events that were spoken by the real life Frank Lucas. AHSI gives American Gangster 4 eyeballs.ASSI - American Gangster represents an era of gangsters: Military Personnel, Police Detectives, Street Hustlers, and of course the Mafia are all gangster who profit from Heroin epedimic that crippled Harlem. Frank Lucas played by Denzel Washington elevated the drug game when he acquired the purest heroin his money could purchase, and under cutting his competition by 50 percent. Making his product "Blue Magic" the best product on the street that was affordable for the average junkie. Frank was a low key narcotic dealer, who believed in nepotism, he relocated his entire family from North Carolina to New Jersey where they became entrepreneurs who operated store front business to launder drug money. He fell in love with Ms. Puerto Rico who purchased an extravagant Chinchilla Fur Coat and matching hat for Frank that changed the course of his life.
Ritchie Roberts (Russell Crowe) is an honest officer who has a reckless personal life. He is on a mission to bring down the drug Lords when he stumbles upon Frank Lucas who forgot his number one and golden rule "always maintain a low profile" became a target when he sported the Fur to an Ali/Fraser fight. To Roberts and others it was impossible for a Black man to acquire and import large quantities of heroin, but Frank was a street smart hustler who was unafraid and left with little options after his Mentor, Bumpy Johnson died. Frank had his pulse on society and used the war to his advantage. Roberts refused to profit from drug money, he wanted the drugs off the streets, the crooked cops, and military personnel who benefited.
American Gangster is a well written, directed, and cast delivers believable performances that captures your attention from the beginning. Rudy Dee, who plays mama Lucas brought southern charm and excitement to her scenes. As I see it American Gangster is great movie that sheds light not only on a notorious kingpin, a courageous unorthodox detective, but the true effects the war and heroin had on our country. I give it 3.5 blinks.

JAY-Z American Gangster
AHSI......Jay Z is back!!!!!!!!This is the album for the old school Jigga fan. Some of the hottest tracks off this 13 track lp are the single with Nas (Let that B breath) is crazy. You can tell that after Ether (the song that Esco destroyed Hova from the greatest hip hop battle ever) he definitely got better and thanks to Mr. Jones, Muhammed Hovi switched up the pitch and he is not trying to let God's Son outshine him again.....The song with Lil Wayne (Brooklyn) is hot. Jay went back to telling stories off the top, being witty as ever, and the beats all fit together creating perfect harmony. I will give this album 4 eyeballs and it actually might be a secret classic. You can tell that he watched the movie, went into the booth, and brought it back to 1988.

Hands Down, Randy Moss is the Real #81
AHSI.............The Showdown of the two best wide receivers took place two weeks ago, and we all saw that Randy Moss is the better receiver so far this year. Keep in mind, I think T.O. is an outstanding player and the last time these players went at it, Moss was at Oakland and T.O. was an Eagle. T.O. was the better player. Even though their numbers were fairly similar when they played head up, the main reason why I chose Randy, as the better player so far this year, Mr. Moss has less drops and more TD catches through six games. Plus the Patriots beat the Cowboys head-to-head. Also, all you have to do is throw it up in Randy's vicinity and he will come down with the ball. Sorry Dallas fans but your boys were exposed last week, and I think New England is on pace to go undefeated. We will see when New England plays Indianapolis in a couple of weeks.
ASSI - A trade to the New England, Patriots served beneficial for Randy Moss, who is redeeming himself from when he played with the Oakland, Raiders, but what would you expect with Tom Brady as his quarterback. Randy Moss and Terrell Owens are two best wide receivers in the league. T.O. has definitely improved since parting company with Philadelphia, Eagles and signing with the Dallas, Cowboys. I was told, if the ball touch the glove, it is a caught ball, and T.O. has dropped too many money balls for me. It may be a little unfair to place all of T.O's dropped balls on his inability to catch all of Tony Romo passes. As I see it Randy Moss is the better receiver and is only going to increase his numbers as the season continues. However, I am looking forward to seeing both men run down field for the football. At The Movies - Why Did I Get Married?
ASSI – Why did I get married? A Tyler Perry film that explores the unspoken truths of four married couples who met while in college, reunite for a couples retreat with unresolved issues, which are revealed during the most inopportune time--dinner. Perry writes scripts that afford him an opportunity to work with actors and entertainers who he admired as a child and while a struggling artist. As a writer, he writes each character with an actor already in mind, hence Janet Jackson’s character Patricia a well organized therapist who has everything together until too many task proves fatal. Tyler wanted to work with Jackson, so he made it possible, and he has Janet to thank for his new love interest. No name at this time, but supposedly he met her at one Jermaine Dupri’s parties. I am a Tasha Smith fan. Therefore, I was pleased with her performance, as Angela the overzealous alcoholic, who loves to put others in their place until she is put in her place. Smith owns an acting studio where she teaches acting. Jill Scott, plays Sheila is an overweight woman verbally abused by her cheating husband who is truly hating on her. Diane is an attorney married to the firm and family life is impeding her progress, is played by Sharon Leal. Tyler does an equal job of casting great eye candy opposite the attractive female cast. Perry plays Terry a dentist who is craving for a son; Richard T. Jones (Mike) is the verbally abuse husband who is truly a tall glass of chocolate milk; Michael Jai White (Marcus) is the former athlete, turned hair stylist with baby mama drama, who is married to Angela; and Malik Yoba (Gavin) is a successful architect who is sensitive and carrying husband to Patricia. Perry has a formula for producing quality films on a low budget. Why Did I Get Married? Is an entertaining short film that could have been better, Perry is better behind the scene, Janet’s character could have displayed more depth, and each story could have been embellished a bit more. As I see it, comic relief is good for the sole, and “Why Did I Get Married?” is worth seeing on the big screen with a box of pop corn and a date. I give it 3.5 blinks. AHSI.... Gives Tyler Perry's new movie Why Did I Get Married? 4 eyeballs. This movie is based on the trials and tribulations of adult relationships, and the emotional toll it takes on each couple. I was pulled into the story because it deals with real life issues that you can relate to. It does not focus on the visual expect of sex but about four different successful couples that have known each other for years. You come away feeling like you know someone that acts like or resembles someone in the movie. The characters are your friends who you went to high school and/or college with, that are now married with a totally different lifestyles. It deals with the various issues of weight, loss of a close relative, children and parent drama, sex, alcohol abuse, cheating spouses and mental cruelty. I would recommend this movie for the grown and sexy. It provides a wide range of emotions from laughter to tears.

Graduation VS Curtis...No Contest, Kanye's CD is still outselling Fifty's
AHSI.....50 Cent vs Kanye West..... Kanye wins hands down. Although they are twodifferent artists, Kanye's CD Graduation has more hits than Fifty's Curtis CD.
If you like hard core hip hop, Fifty definitely has the harder album but if you enjoy music for the grown and sexy with a different style, then Kanye's CD is for you. The songs that are sure winners beside the singles we hear on the radio are the duet with Fifty and Mary on Curtis and the tag team combo of Kanye and Lil Wayne on Graduation. The best song on Curtis is Get Money while on Graduation you have your choice between Can't Get My Money Right or Big Brother. As we see it Curtis receives 2.5 eyeballs and Graduation 3.5

Look Under the Skin and Inside Bodies...
AHSI- The Bodies Exhibition is an interesting museum displaying all parts of the body and how they work simultaneously together. It shows the different stages of life displaying the developmental stages of the embryo to the fetus and it also shows death by all types of cancer and other diseases found inside and outside of the body. It was a very educational experience that at times, reminded me of different things that I had been taught over the years. I was able to see it up close and personal. The Exhibition is less than thirty minutes in traffic from Washington DC. The Museum was very modern and divided into approximately nine sections. I would recommend the exhibit to all tourists, especially those interested in biology, science, physical therapy/education and anthropology. If you wish to show a child or a smoker, what affect their organs (skin, heart, lungs etc.) will have if they’re not cared for properly. I give the museum 3 eyeballs.

Ambi - Skincare Bleach Facial Hair
ASSI - I was in search of a reliable over-the-counter facial product that would prevent a trip to the mall for facial cleanser. Ambi Skincare is priced right, promotes my basic needs, and can be purchased at any drug store, Walmart, or Target. I gave it a try, and Ambi Skincare products bleached half-an-inch of my hair starting at the hair line up, and the fine hairs on my face. As I continued to use the products, my hair turned Blond, which was extremely noticeable due to my complexion, and original hair color. As I see it - until the ingredients are improved avoid direct sun light when using Ambi facial cleanser and moisturizer. I give Ambi Skincare products one blink.Tuesday, October 2, 2007
Now on DVD - I Think I Love My Wife and Perfect Strangers
ASSI - Chris Rock has a knack for taking old movies and upgrading them to todays' era. Rock must spend countless hours watching old films in search of that one film that he can creatively rewrite. I Think I Love My Wife is a remake of the 1972 French film "L'Amourl'apre-mide. Rock plays Richard Cooper a married man who thinks life is rather mundane and routine with his wife Brenda Cooper (Gina Torres) and their two children. He has an ideal picture family, an attractive wife and children, house in the suburbs, and successful career that he is content with until Nikki Tru (Kerry Washington) a friend from his pass ignites some excitement into his routine life. Nikkie is the former girlfriend of Cooper's friend; therefore, she is off-limits for two very good reasons. However, his attraction to her causes him to question his feelings for his wife who takes good care of the children and the house but does nothing to entice and excite him, which makes it easy for Nikki to lure him away from the things that matter the most his family and work. Richard is rather green when it comes to a monogamous friend to an attractive single woman who toys with his emotions. I think I love My Wife is a fun adult movie that is good for comic relief. It also provides a hint of realism and provides couples with a glimpse of what can happen if you neglect your home. We saw I Think I love My Wife on the big screen and rented the DVD, he went to sleep in the theater, and did not remember the movie. I enjoyed the film both times; however, it was funnier at home, I actually heard all the punch lines.
AHSI....I Think I Love My Wife, starring Chris Rock, Kerry Washington and Gina Torres is a great funny adult relationship movie. Rating 4ASSI - I really enjoyed Perfect Stranger mostly because of the plot, there is noticeable foreshadowing but because I was unsure how the story would unfold. I was more pleased with the story than the acting of Halle Berry and Bruce Willis, I am somewhat bias when it comes to good looking Gary Dourdan who plays Halle's ex boyfriend who slept with her childhood friend or so you think, and I think Giovanni Ribis is one of the most talented actors with depth and range plays a gadget geek who will do anything for Rowina Price who is an investigative reporting searching for her best friend's killer, she suspects that Harrison Hill (Bruce Willis) is the killer. She devices a plan to attract and trap Hill but is unsure if she has the tools to lure Hill into an Internet chat, and from their the plot thickens and you are left wondering, who, what, and why until the answers are revealed. No Oscar winning performances but convincing enough to deliver a suspenseful thriller that is worth the rental fee.
AHSI.....Perfect Stranger, starring Halle Berry and Bruce Willis is a riveting suspense thriller with a surprise ending. Rating 4

Jefferson's Monticello
I imagined Thomas Jefferson walking the grounds of his inherited 3,000 acres of land along the Rivanna River feeling literally on top of the world. Monticello is an impressive estate that took Jefferson 40 years to complete, much thought was given prior to, and during the construction of Monticello. Thomas Jefferson was highly influenced by European styles, textiles, and designs and incorporated them all when designing Monticello, a two story, eight-room house that he began transforming into a three-story house in 1796 inspired by a structure he saw in Paris. While expanding the house to accommodate a second floor, Jefferson also added a dome over the front west side of the house, which was the first for an American house. Therefore, the image on the back of the nickel is the back of the home instead of the front. The main house is connected to South and North pavilions with terraces, under the terraces are all-weather passageways to the kitchen, cook’s room, smokehouse, two slave quarters, dairy, and a service room on the south side. On the north side was the ice house; stables, carriage house, and wash house were “dependencies” areas where domestic/enslaved people were instrumental to the functioning of the main house. Jefferson inherited 150 plus slaves with the land and they worked the farms, helped construct the house and outbuildings while performing house duties.
Jefferson is a founding father of the Declaration of Independence and likely the father of his slave Sally Hemings’ children. A subject that has been debated for more than two centuries, a DNA test did determine that there was a genetic link between the Jefferson and Hemings’ family; however, the evidence is not definitive enough for the heirs of Jefferson to share his burial ground with the Hemings. A request the Hemings’ family made when it was determined that Jefferson was the father of Hemings’ eldest son Eston who was born in 1808. The grounds of Monticello are absolutely beautiful there are orchards, vineyards, vegetable gardens, mulberry row that leads you the Jefferson Gravesite, and the flower walk makes the garden and grounds tour an enjoyable stroll. A visit to Monticello is a great way to spend the day and the best time to tour the property is in the evening. Signature tours are offered to small groups of twenty, the tour begins promptly at 6 p.m., on top-of-the mountain, and a special tour of the dome is included. The dome is an empty room without any visible views but the only room in the house where photos can be snapped due to copy right issues. Although photos are prohibited in the house, there are artifacts in the basement, the dependencies, and the lush green grounds to photograph. However, bring a tape recorder and ask plenty of questions, there are two knowledgeable guides who seem to be passionate and excited to share tidbits of Jefferson’s legacy, and their information will save you a trip to the gift shop. This was a three blink experience for me.

Experience the Movement at: The National Civil Rights Museum
ASSI – Walter Lane Bailey, a minority business owner purchased a motel on the south-end of downtown Memphis, and named it The Lorraine Motel after his wife. From the moment I read: The Autobiography of Martin Luther King, Jr., and watched the Eyes on The Prize Documentary series, I have wanted to visit the Lorraine Motel. Standing on the grounds of the Lorraine Hotel, I noticed viewers previewing the rooms, and thought. “This will be quick.” From the outside looking in, I thought the rooms were the only thing available for viewing. Little and I mean little did I know that the National Civil Rights Museum (NCRM) would be a mind blowing experience, no disrespect to Dr. King, his family, or legacy. NCRM is a museum that evokes emotions, the information is extremely powerful, and literally blew my mind. An inscribed marble plaque attached to the room door where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. often stayed now sits on the grounds so everyone can read the inscription. I have seen hundreds of images of the oversize reef adhered to the rail where Dr. King’s slain body lay. Mr. Bailey’s wife Lorraine died two hours after Dr. King was assassinated from a brain hemorrhage. To honor their lives the two previewed rooms were enshrined.
Capturing the moment with personal photos is an altering experience, but the journey begins when you enter the NCRM. The museum open its doors to the public September 28, 1991, after a group of prominent Memphians purchased the foreclosed property at an auction for $144,000, to preserve the historic site. Black folks overcame one struggle after another, injustices were popping up around every corner it seemed, and the NCRM encapsulates that era. NCRM is as well thought- out-as any Award Winning documentary, autobiography, or directed movie treatment. The path to civil rights begins with strategies of change. A crisp white hooded shield worn by the Klu Klux Klan was on display that raised my contentiousness. It also remembered when my cousins and I happened upon a burning cross while driving to Opelika, Alabama. NCRM outlines the turn-of-events that shaped civil rights with why and how the movement was started, who were the players that formed organizations, and their motivation to unite for civil rights. If you are unaware become aware at the National Civil Rights Museum. If reading story boards disinterest you, audio recording is available, walking is required; however, the facility is wheel chair accessible. To place a spot light on what was happening in the South, southerners protested for and against change in Topeka, Kansas for the notable case of Brown V. The Topeka Board of Ed. Teenagers in Little Rock, Arkansas were courageous enough to step forward and put themselves on the front line for an equal education. One step-at-a-time I walked onto a Montgomery, Alabama city bus, the driver was turned in the direction of a woman seated about four rows back, on the left. I passed the driver, looked over the various ads, and just as I approach Rosa Parks. The bus driver says, “Move, get up from there, I need that seat. If you don’t move, out of that seat, I will have you arrested.” Although the seated figure of Ms. Parks was made-of- stone, I was compelled to lay hand upon her shoulder, and give thanks for her willingness to stay seated for change. She did not sit alone; there were others, who were daring, and staged a sit-in, at a lunch counter, at a Woolworth Department Store. As I approached the exhibit, I had a moment of nostalgia. I was unaware of the freedom rides, but as soon as I approached the display, I immediately felt for the people who were on board the Gray Hound Bus, which had obviously been engulfed in flames. I am familiar with the stories of “Ole Miss”, so I schemed past the Project C exhibit; however, the Cell in Birmingham caught my attention. The phrase “walk-the-walk” must have been originated in 1963 because Black people marched, marched, and marched all the way to Washington for jobs and freedom. The March on Washington exhibit was exciting, I could feel the energy of the day, and the life-like stone figures body language, banners, and cameras made it oh so real.
The National Civil Rights Museum is an excellent resource to visit and learn your civil rights history, everything you need and want to know is covered, and I was able to revisit information regarding the march on Selma. The March against Fear was covered and nicely done, you learn how Chicago was affected during the civil rights era. NCRM brought the sixties and the struggles indoors, a Memphis garbage truck, and loads of trash was on display. Two or three sanitation workers died in the back of the truck while shielding themselves from the rain, they were accidentally grind to death. The sanitation workers were also fighting for equal rights. Last and most appropriate is the introduction of Dr. Martin Luther King’s purpose for visiting Memphis. His last and final speech contained various premonition references, his choice to speak from his heart instead of his prepared speech, suggested he knew the end was near. NCRM is an experience everyone must have, if you are interested in knowing more about James Earl Ray, who was arrested for the assassination for Dr. King. All you have to do is walk across the street, to see a replica of room 5B rented by Earl Ray, the bathroom where he stood in the tub and fired the infamous shot, and if you question who shot Dr. King you can read all about the conspiracy theory. As eye see it, everyone and I do mean everyone, must visit the National Civil Rights Museum, it is worth the $25.00 admissions fee, and be sure to purchase a souvenir. The NCRM was a five blink experience.

A Humans Life Vs An Animal's Life
ASSI - I have compassion for all living things know one or anything should be treated inhumanely; however, in this society women are raped, beaten, doused with gasoline, and murdered in some of the most heinous ways imaginable; babies are left in garbage cans wrapped in plastic bags, some are mauled by dogs and rodents, some are sexually assaulted, shaking to death, and beaten by an adult; and the babies who live beyond their toddler years are still in danger of being molested or murdered by a parent, and animals are mistreated everyday by a neglectful owner, mentally unstable owner, or simply because the owner is training the animal for protection and disciplinarian reasons.I am in no way condoning Michael Vick's behavior with his involvement in the illegal dog fighting case; however, he is a notable athlete who knew better hence
his dishonesty with the NFL Commissioner and the Atlanta Falcons. Most people will refrain from disclosing criminal information from people they respect, love, and admire to protect their image, and to avoid Inquisition when the behavior is likely to continue. Make an example of Vick, yes; but end his football career, no; should he go to jail, no; should he receive community service hours or probation, yes; should he receive a hefty fine, yes; is he a product of his upbringing, yes; did he make a mistake, no. Dog fighting is an under ground sport that is well attended, folks bread pits to fight unlike the Westminster that is there purpose. Someone owns the opposing dogs and someone was placing sizable bets, so who gave Vick up? His power intimidated the hell out of someone; he/she they felt a need to bring him down, strip him of his professional football career, and locked down. Who in the hell did he piss-off? Was he to cocky and arrogant? Was his stack too big?
I am really surprised at some of the comments made by Black commentators. I realize they have careers to protect, but they also have a voice and a platform that can be used to highlight the positives of a bad situation. Instead many lack the balls to refrain from sensationalised comments for viewer ratings. It seems, Vick was unaware that when you have you something worth loosing, you surround yourself with others, who have something to loose. When you hang with folks who do not have anything to loose, you loose. I think it is an unfortunate situation, it is not good for our society, and the judge should be removed from the case due to his obvious love for animals.
AHSI.....Justice is truly blind. First let me state for the record that I do not condone Mike Vick actions towards killing the dogs but I do understand the sport of dogfighting. I do not believe that the Virginia Court system, the media and the NFL should be throwing the book at him, but because of the attention that they are giving this story, I feel that he will be unable to get a fair trail. He will probably be used as an example and given the maximum sentence. If anyone else was caught dogfighting and faced with animal cruelty charges, they would have been given a fine to pay or some type of probation with no jail time.
My final thought on this matter for all you animal lovers and PETA activists, (that are not true vegetarians) is: Any type of food we eat has been killed in a cruel and violent method. Whether its baiting a hook to catch a fish, to animal traps to catch bears and wolves, to the hunting techniques of shooting wild animals, to the farmers that raise livestock to feed the world, are you going to fine, arrest or even complain about there activities to anyone?

Will Justice Prevail For The Jena six?
ASSI - Justice is suppose to be blind, but when it comes to African Americans, justice is not only blind the scales are also unbalanced. September 1, 2007 is the one year anniversary of Jena 6, a racially charged incident at Jena High School in Jena, Louisiana. Black students wanted to sit under a tree located in a designated White area of the school. Three nooses, two Black and one White (the school colors) hung from the tree. Black students staged an impromptu protest under the tree, the police were called, and it is reported that the District Attorney threaten to change the lives of Black students with a stroke of a pen. Six Black male students were arrested and charged with attempted-murder after a school yard fight left a White male student unconscious with multiple bruises.
Since the noose hanging incident several racially motivated crimes against Blacks have transpired in Jena. A Black male student was assaulted by a White adult as he entered a party at the predominately White Fair Barn, a social establishment. An academic wing was destroyed during a fire a Jena High School. A White male who was involved in the assault pulled a pump-action shotgun on three Black teens as they were leaving a local convenient store. No charges have been filled against the White students for the Noose incident it was merely a prank and not a hate crime. For further information and to lend your support click on Jena 6. When I heard about this story, I wanted to know more, but the more I learned the more perplexed I became. I wondered why I was unfamiliar with the story, I had not heard about via radio, t.v. or my local paper. However, on the same day the story was shared with me, I tuned into the Michael Baisden Radio Show, and Michael was speaking out about this case. Michael was displeased with the facts and outcomes of this case, he wondered why the African American community was not rallying together behind this case and others.
According to Michael, he was headed to Jena, Louisiana for a peaceful demonstration to support the release of the Jena six. A rally is scheduled for September 20, 2007 in Jena, Louisiana; Michael reached out to Steve Harvey, Tom Joyner, and Russ Paar for a collaborative live broadcast from Jena. If you are unable to personally attend the rally, you can lend your support by wearing Black on 09/20/07. The charges against the Jena 6 was reduced from attempted-murder to aggravated second-degree battery and conspiracy to commit aggravated second-degree battery, which together carry a maximum of 22 years in prison. Although the Caucasian student, who was knocked unconscious, testified that he was hit from behind, and unaware of who struck him, an all White jury convicted Mychal Bell, a promising football star of all charges. The other five are awaiting trail. As I see it justice needs to take off the blind fold for better insight on how to properly balance the scale.

Amsterdam - The Real Adult Play Ground
ASSI - Vegas the adult play ground for amateurs. Adults who like to play without looking over their shoulders do so on the grounds of Amsterdam where sex and drugs are legally safe. Naysayers and those who prefer to walk the straight and narrow, laugh when I refer to Amsterdam as pleasantville. Some say, "I bet every one is high," which is untrue. There are a number of people who disagree with the Red Light District and The Coffee Shops. Just as there are people who visit Vegas and disagree with gambling and Vega's notable night life. What is pleasingly pleasant is the simplicity.
Hundreds of rustic and new bicycles adorn the city, families ride together, women wear skirts and it is no big deal, the ring of a bell and the sidewalk is shared, canals every where you turn, and most of all prejudice was absent. The Heineken Brewery is one of the best tours that I have experienced and I dislike beer. Interactive video games that are fun and informative geared for adults, two or three different lounges where you have complimentary Heineken, you receive a parting gift as you exit, and it was only 10 Euro.
The Gassan Diamond factory provides pick-up and drop off service, a private session with a gemologist, a tour of the factory, and you can watch them cut and shape diamonds for free. You can visit the beautiful tulip garden when in season, Ann Frank's house, Van Gogh Museum, and if you enjoy shopping clear your credit cards. Madame Toussaint's Wax Museum is well done but, for the cost of admission it is not worth the money, you are better off seeing a live sex show. There are hotels less expensive in Holland; however, if you like to party and hang to the whee hours of the night or rise early to indulge your desires Amsterdam is where you wan to be.
I have a friend who relocated from Chicago to Amsterdam because he loved it so much. I also have friends who reside in Germany and when I visit we hop on the Audubon for a quick trip to Amsterdam. I have a wonderfully different experience each time and just like Las Vegas what happens in Amsterdam stays in Amsterdam, and the kicker is --it is all legal. As I see it a trip to the Netherlands is an experience waiting to happen if you allow it. It is a 4.5 blink experience.
AHSI- Amsterdam/Holland was a great place to visit. Everyone was so care-free or seemed to be enjoying life. The natives were friendly and courteous, and there was always something to do. If you like different pastries then you will enjoy the various pastries available for your consumption and the good thing is--you can walk it off. Everything was basically in the same general vicinity, which made it very easy to get around.
The big treat for beer lovers is that you can visit the Heineken Factory. The beer was great and the way that it is set up, you will definitely get your fill on beer as well as being introduced to the Heineken name, family, and anything else you need to know about this brand of beer. You can also view the Anne Frank House as well as different paintings from Van Gogh by visiting the many museums they have.
The Red light District was also a sight to see. If you like to indulge and wish to experiment with what the Coffee Shops have to offer, you will find a wide range and also a safe environment for you to enjoy your activities. Based on all of the stories you have might have heard, I will confirm the positives, and say Holland is definitely a place everyone should visit. I give it 4.5 blinks.

Ancient..Ruins...Rome - The Eternal City
AHSI - Rome, Italy is a beautiful place to visit. If you are a history buff or someone who enjoys Roman Mythology. Rome will feel like heaven to you. Public transportation was very easy to use, and everything is approximately twenty minutes away. The only downfall is the food. If you love Mafia movies or the Sopranos, and have salivated over the pasta meals with the juicy sausages and meatballs FORGET ABOUT IT. I went all over Rome trying to find Uncle Paulie, in the back cooking one of those meals. I was told, "that's TV".
ASSI - Rome the eternal city is simply breath taking from the cobble stone streets to the ancient ruins are beyond words. I was familiar with images of the Piazza del Colosseo (Colusium), Piazza San Pietro (St. Peter's Basilica), and Musei Vaticani (the home of Michelangelo's famous Sistine Chapel); however, I was unprepared for the feeling that enveloped me. I actually had a Oh my Gosh, Oh my Gosh, I cannot believe I am actually standing on the grounds of St. Peter's Basilica. I was over joyed at the realization of where I was, my entire body seemed to dance and smile all over in-belief, seeing is truly believing.
We took advantage of public transportation to see the city for 1.00 Euro, the buses start at 5:00 a.m. and run untilmidnight; upon arriving in Rome, we took the bus from the train station to the hotel, and back to the train station for our trip home. We took the train to the airport, it was more cost effective, scenic, and comfortable. Most Italians speak English, so please do not allow the language barrier to deter you from visting Italy.
I love European fashion, I just simply adore the clothes, shoes, and handbags. The cuts are small, you will require a larger size, but do hesitate to try on any item that catches your eye. I guarantee you, if you can fit-it, you will buy it, love it, and so will everyone else. Every piece of clothing I purchased while in Europe garners the most and highest compliments.
Unfortunately, we had the displeasure of staying at the Hotel Dei Mellini that was centrally located and walking distance to Vatican City where St. Peter's Basilica and the Vatican Museum are located, Museo Nazional di Castel Sant'Angelo (Palace of Angels), Museo dell'Ara Pacis, the Pantheon and countless othermuseums, and every step was worth the walk. The service I received at the Hotel Dei Mellini was unworthy of their 5 star rating. The rooms were standard, the temperature was warmer than we preferred with the air on, we were then relocated to a room with a defective shower rod that fell and hit me in the head as I was exiting the shower.
My overall visit in Rome, Italy was phenomenal, I definitely see it as five blink experience, just find other accommodations than the Hotel Dei Mellini that I give one blink.

Polaroid LCD HDTV: An Instant Deal
It is most cost effective to replace a light bulb in the LCD than to replace the noble gases (i.e., argon, neon, xenon) that loose their glow overtime. I would be remised to go on an on about Plasma and LCD when the DLP HDTV is also competing for the HDTV dollar. The DLP is a Texas Instrument product. The technology of the DLP is millions of tiny hinge-mounted microscopic mirrors that each measure less than one-fifth of a human hair. Sounds interesting but what does that mean for contrast/Black levels, color accuracy, viewing angle, computer use, video playback speed, altitude usage, longevity, screen burn-in, production size and cost, power consumption, price and resolution? I am unsure for I have not had the pleasure of an actual experience beyond Sam’s club.
However, we have yet to experience “burn-in,” glaring, or angel viewing problems with the LCD. Attaching the computer was a breeze; and since, the TV is a monitor the computer images are inspiringly beautiful. The only disadvantage can be the cable length that connects the PC or Laptop to the television. This FLM-3725: 37” LCD TV/Monitor is an older model; however, Polaroid’s HD Televisions are affordable, attractive, and the picture quality is exceptional. As I see the Polaroid FLM-3725: 37” LCD TV/Monitor with remote control and a host of other features was well worth the money. I give it four blinks.

It Has it all and Does it all the HP Photosmart 3310 AllinOne
ASSI - Remember when you used negatives for reprints? Do you still use negatives for reprints? The HP Photosmart 3310 All-in-One is for you, especially if you still posses negatives. If restoring photos is a hobby or passion the Photosmart 3310 scans up to six negatives and photos can be retouched. A feature we have yet to test, however, color pictures print identical to the actual image, if the lens captures a dull and dreary day that is exactly what the Photosmart prints. The prints lack vibrancy, but colorful images are sharp and rich. 4" x 6" paper is stored in the automatic photo tray that also prints panoramas and images as large as 8.5" x 24" by pressing the photo tray button, if printing directly from All-in-One. The 3.6 LCD is ideal for editing pictures, setting print commands and layout, and monitoring ink levels. HP has made the all-in-one stylish and functional the only down side to this design is the fax tray, a feature that is unappreciated until you have to fax hard copies, scanning first slows the process down, but documents Scan as fast as 8 seconds per sheet; however, Black and White copy takes about 32 seconds and 31 for a color copy. The HP Photosmart 3310 All-in-One is perfect for the home or office, the compact and stylish design compliments any room, it has built-in-wireless, which is ideal for a small network and connects to any PC or laptop, the built-in modem makes life a little easier when faxing, and the pictbridge allows you to print directly from a memory card, pictbridge USB port, camera, camera phone, USB flash drive, and HP proof sheet. Althought the 3310 requires six individual ink cartridge, each cartridge is monitored, which eliminates purchasing extra ink cartridges because only one color has run out. As I see it the HP Photosmart 3310 All-in-one is a must purchase and I give it 4 blinks.

Kodak EasyShare - Will not break the bank but will break
ASHI –One of the greatest attributes of the Kodak EasyShare CX6330 digital camera is the docking station, the bundle is ideal for traveling, especially when visiting family. The fact that you can print pictures instantly is a plus. Although the camera is three mega pixels, the print quality is sharp, crisp, and clear, which could be attributed to the print docking station. The bundle consists of the camera, docking station, ink cartridges to print forty pictures and photo paper. I am pleased with the pictures the colors are rich, bold, and sharp with vivid detail. Transferring pictures from the docking station is as easy as a- press-of-a-button will print or transfer pictures to your PC or laptop or use the included USB cord. Another good feature is the 16 MB internal memory, a feature the Canon SD900 lack; it also has continuous video with audio, 1.6 LCD screen, 3x optical zoom, power cords, and two AA batteries. The Easyshare is light weight and the four (camera, docking station, paper tray, and ink cartridge) pieces assemble with ease, and with twenty dollars you can purchase paper and a replacement cartridge. Is is not small enough to fit in your pocket but surely ideal for all family functions: cook outs, weddings, graduations, and anniversaries perfect for amateurs with a passion for photography. Since the battery compartment door was repaired, in 2006, the camera no longer works to its full potential. I covered the cost of the repair, which I feel was worth it, and I still see it as a value and give it 4 eyeballs.
Canon Captures Pictures Perfect
ASHI – I have limited experience with the Canon SD900; however, the ten megapixels is a great feature, it makes bad pictures look great. It is small and sleek, light but durable enough to fit into your shirt or pant pocket. Pictures download to PC or laptop via USB cable without any problems. The video quality is great but uses a lot of memory to capturing moving images. I dislike that it does not have an internal memory; if you do not have a memory card or your memory card is full you are out of luck. I believe a printing docking station can be purchased for this camera, which would make it more attractive for me; however, I see it as a good purchase and give it 4.5 eye balls.

Hedonism for the Wild and Wicked
The resort had modern amenities, mirrored ceilings and walls appropriately displayed in each room, multiple shower heads in the shower, private Jacuzzis and swimming pools, open cabanas for leisure lounging, rock climbing, pool tables and chess, and even a nightclub with stripper pole included. The beautifully painted rocks that adorned the grounds from past visitors was a nice touch, be sure to paint a rock to mark the occasion.
Hedonism lacked entertainment, there were enough people at the resort to have a continuous party, but the club music was unenticing and the live entertainment was unimpressive, and if you come for fun and games be sure to bring your own games. If you prefer to bring your sand with you to the beach, the two of you will have a blast creating lasting memories, if you are hoping to bottle sand while your there, be careful and pack plenty of condoms. The booze cruise was much fun but if your partner or friend is uncomfortable seeing others in their birthday suits or dislike looking at headlights then this is not the excursion for you; however, if you are down and can appreciate nakedness, then tops off and bottle up. I was most displeased with the various cracks and crevasses, which suggest the facility is in desperate need of repairs, but to no avail. The cushions for the cabanas were old, outdated, and worn; the cushions for the chairs in the dining room were mold and mildewed. I see the resort as two blinks and the overall exeperience three blinks.
