ASSI - The action in the beginning of Illegal Tender caught my attention, and the fact that it is an all Latino cast, peeked my interest. Illegal Tender is a well written film about how a widowed woman and her two sons are forced to escape New York City to avoid her husband's killer. Millie De Leon is an intelligent woman who will do anything to protect her family, but her sheltered twenty-one year old son was a new born when his father died, and he refuses to accept his mother's fleeing lifestyle. Although a few scenes were stretched, I was interested in the direction the director was going to tell the story, and I was pleased with the outcome. As I see it if you interested in seeing a gangsta movie with a different twist give Illegal Tender a try. I give it 3 blinks.

Illegal Tender
AHSI...... Illegal Tender is a coming of age film starring Rick Gonzalez as Wilson Jr. This movie starts off in New York as Wilson Sr. (Manny Perez) and young Millie DeLeon (Jessica Pimental) are about to welcome Wilson Jr. into the world. Their lives take a turn for the worse causing the family to relocate to Danbury Connecticut. The story ends with them traveling to Puerto Rico to handle the family business and also some dark family secrets are revealed along the way. It is a new age gangster movie with an all Hispanic cast. I was impressed how they portrayed Mr Gonzalez as a college student that is pulled into the game. It shows his loss of innocence and that FAMILY MEANS EVERYTHING. AHSI gives this movie 3.5 eyeballs.
