Acai Berry the Latest Craze

ASSI – Acai, pronounced (ah-sigh-ee) is a fruit that grows on the Acai Palm Trees in the Amazon Rain forest in the hills of Brazil. The Acai Berry is kin to Blue Berry but unlike Blueberries it is mostly seed with a small amount of fruit pulp and skin. It is imperative that the juice is extracted and frozen immediately during harvesting to prevent spoilage. It has become the latest craze since Dr. Perricone introduced it on Fox as one of the Superfoods. Dr. Oz has also featured the nutritional benefits of the Acai Berry on Oprah during one of his health segments; some of the fraudulent producers of the products are using his and Oprah’s name to promote their product. As a result Oprah has the following disclaimer on her site:

The Truth About Oprah and Açaí
Consumers should be aware that Oprah Winfrey is not associated with nor does she endorse any açaí berry product or online solicitation of such products. Attorneys for Harpo are pursuing any companies that claim such an affiliation.

Some of the nutritional benefits of the Acai Berry are: rapid weight loss, increases energy, boost metabolism, reduces constipation, gas, bloating, fatigue, and helps you sleep better. There are reports that claim as much as 18lbs lost in 3 days and a number of Acai berry scams on the market, various promotions are available offering free trails that aren’t worth the shipping and handling cost, so buyer beware, make sure you do your research prior to investing in any of the these supplements: Acai Burn, Acai Berry Supreme, Acai Noni Burner, and Acai Berry Ultimate. You can also purchase Acai Berry juice, but make sure it is a 100% Acai Berry juice harvested from the berries in Brazil.

When I heard the claims of weight loss and increased energy my curiosity was peaked, I went to my local Whole Food Markets, and inquired about the supplement. After a detailed conversation with the young lady who works in the nutrition supplement section, I decided to give Genesis Today, liquid supplement of Wild Harvest 100% Pure Acai Juice a try, and I am unable to substantiate any of the claims associated with the Acai Berry. I was told that the percentage of Acai Berry in the pill supplement is too low to have any effect, the powder is better but has to be blended into a smoothie, and it is unavailable in its natural form here in America. As I see it, it is expensive and it may take longer than a couple weeks before you actually see any results, but if you’re curious and thinking about giving it a try do your homework first. Determine how much time and money, if any you are willing to invest before subjecting yourself to a trial experiment. I give Genesis Today’s 100% Pure Acai Juice 2.5 blinks.
